“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” – [Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim]

“We were filled with sadness, when Ramadan came, and we could not perform Tarawih prayers like the rest of the Muslims as there was no mosque in our village. Young people and those who could walk used to travel long distances and walk for hours to reach a mosque to pray Tarawih. Soon we will have a mosque. We will pray Fajr, pray in Jama’a, pray Taraweeh in Ramadan and pray Joma’a behind the imam. We will hear the call to prayer and our children will learn the Qur’an. This was one of our dreams and now we see it coming true before our eyes. “Amin, 50, from Nigeria.

Hayat Yolu is currently building two mosques, one in Nigeria and the other in Mali and recently we finished building a mosque in Ghana.

There are many villages and neighborhoods in Africa that yearn to pray in the mosque and long to hear the call to prayer. People do not have the ability to build their mosques due to extreme poverty, as they hardly provide for their daily sustenance.

“We do our best to gather and perform our prayers together on Fridays or on special occasions, but the weather conditions here are very harsh. We do not have a roof to protect us from the sun heat, so the old and the young are deprived of performing the prayers with us,” Soliman, 43, from Nigeria, said.

In addition, these areas are deprived of any activity to teach or memorize the Noble Qur’an due to lack of a suitable place, lack of copies of Qur’ans and any educational tools, while there are many children or their families who wish to learn and memorize the Qur’an.

“How dearly I wished my children will learn the Holy Qur’an, know their religion, and memorize the Qur’an, but we do not have any capacities to help us do. We have no mosques, no copies of Qur’an, and the elderly strive to teach children, but that there is now mosque is a major obstacle, so, we are waiting for the mosque to finish.” says Radhia 35, a mother of three. Her son Abdul Malik, 13, adds, “I come every day to watch the progress of the mosque’s construction works. I am very happy and anxiously waiting for the first prayer in it.”

Hayat Yolu works hard to establish mosques in deprived areas of mosques. You can join us and contribute to this effort. Make an endless charity, with participation in building mosques.
