For the seventh year in a row, we are launching the Qurbani project #Your_Qurbani_their_happiness, as Eid al-Adha 2021 is approaching.
The Qurbani project has a good impact on beneficiaries; not only because it enables them to eat the food that they have been deprived of for a long time and maybe waiting for it for the whole year; but also because it brings joy and pleasure to their hearts. It is a time in which all Moslems should feel happy and enjoy the spirituality of the occasion; which can’t be achieved if they and their children were hungry. It also spreads the feeling of solidarity and mutual support within the society.
We implement the Qurbani project in its two types, the Fresh Qurbani, which slaughtered and distributed in the same country; and the Frozen Qurbani in which we have to purchase Qurbani from one country and distribute it in another one due to the high prices in the beneficiary country. We buy Qurbani from India and Australia, for example, and we slaughter, cut, and pack it duly, then it is shipped refrigerated in special ships to the distribution areas.
In both cases, we are keen on selecting Qurbanis, examining them carefully; and ensuring their suitability for the conditions and terms of Islamic law. In the past six years, we have been able to reach more than 6 million beneficiaries in 15 countries around the world, who we have made sure to be among the poorest and most needy and the displaced. We worked in Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan, Somalia, Sudan, and others. We also aspire this year to reach more beneficiaries and achieve our goal of replacing sadness in the hearts due to poverty and hunger with joy.

Amina is a volunteer with the Qurbani project and supported Hayat Yolu team in distributing Qurbani meat in Jordan. Amina says, “I knocked on the door of a house, and a woman came out to me and when she saw the meat parcel, she cheered up and said, I put water on the fire, and I prayed to Allah to provide us with meat so that we feed the little ones and make them happy. I decided if I do not receive any meat, I will put some lentils in the water, but I was confident that Allah would not deprive my children of the joy of Eid.”
